What Happens After You Hit a Garage Door
Impact damage falls into three layers. The visible one is the dented or split panel. Underneath that, the rollers and hinges on the struck section take the load and bend, which is what makes the door bind afterwards. Deeper still, the track itself can be pushed out of alignment, and a door running in a bent track will damage itself further every time it cycles — this is how a panel problem turns into an off-track door.

On doors more than about fifteen years old that is less likely, and on a discontinued model the honest answer may be that a match no longer exists.
